Venues for VIVO IPL 2018 Playoff Matches Confirmed

With Indian summer just at the horizon, it’s time to sweat it out on the field too with the IPL. Easily, one of the most anticipated and awaited tournament of the year, the Indian Premier League 2018 will have us all glued on our television screens from the 7th April 2018. But if you are among those who like to catch the excitement live in action and want to really feel the ecstasy of seeing your favourite team win, you definitely should head to the stadiums. Here are the confirmed venues for the IPL 2018.

Mumbai to open

As is the ritual, the defending champions Mumbai Indians will host the first game in the Wankhede Stadium on 7th April 2018. The Opening match is going to be between the Mumbai Indians and former champions, Chennai Super Kings. IPL will return again to Wankhede for the finale of the season on the 27th May 2018.

Other venues

The basic rules of the venues for the IPL matches have remained consistent over the years. Each team gets to play seven matches in the home and away format and the top four teams will compete for the play-offs. The top two teams will face each other for a qualifier in Mumbai again and the winning team will head for the finals. The loser of the first qualifier match will compete with the winner of the eliminator match in the second qualifier scheduled on May 23 and the winner thereof will head for the finals. The Eliminator and the second qualifier match would be hosted in the Lucknow Stadium.
