South Africa vs India, 6th ODI, 16-Feb’18, Match Preview & Prediction

India will take on South Africa in the final ODI at SuperSport Park, Centurion, on 16 February 2018. The match is scheduled to start at 1pm local time.

The Men in Blue will not want what happened during the fourth ODI in Johannesburg – rain interruption and couple of no-balls by Yuzvendra Chahal. Dropped catches, rain interruption and no-balls decided the outcome of the game, which the Proteas won.

The key to winning the final ODI will be getting AB de Villiers out early in the game. Of course, the bowlers will have to bowl their best and refrain from mistakes, like no-balls and wides. These mistakes will give the South African easy runs.

The Indian bowlers will have to maintain tight line and length to ensure the likes of De Villiers, David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen are kept on a short lease. If the spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, do their job well, there is no question that the Indian side will come up on top, provided the rain gods don’t interfere again.

While some cricket specialists opine that the Proteas have finally figured out the wrist spin of Yadav and Chahal, there are others who believe it is not true. The Pink Proteas will still be mesmerized by their magic, especially if AB de Villiers and David Miller get out early in the innings.

6th ODI Prediction South Africa vs India

The South Africans will want to spoil India’s party by winning the last ODI of the series. So, they will be going guns blazing into the game. However, if the Indian batsmen and bowlers do their job, there is no question that India will come out victorious.

However, a lot depends on who wins the toss and how the Indian bowlers perform. If India wins the toss, they will put the South Africans to bat first as the Men in Blue prefer chasing a target. On the other hand, if the Proteas win the toss, they will put India to bat first. With Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan playing the best cricket of their lives, India’s batting is strong and not a cause for concern. It is the wides and no-balls that are worrying and bowlers should try to curb them if they don’t want to give free hits to the Proteas.

While the odds favor India in the 6th ODI, the South Africans will not concede easily.
