Delhi’s campaign in IPL 2018 is one of the worst ever with just one win to their name and that too from six matches. This lead to skipper Gautam Gambhir resigning from his post which was subsequently handed over to 23-year-old Shreyas Iyer. The latter faced the enormous task of turning around the fortunes of his team. He showed his mettle in the match against Kings XI Punjab where he scored the highest, 57 off 45 balls.
The team however could not capitalize on this performance and they fell short of just 4 runs. In the next game against Kolkata Knight Riders he blasted 93 runs of just 40 balls, taking the total to 219 at a loss of 4 wickets. Iyer remained not out till the end. It will be interesting to see whether Delhi finally turns the tables around or Kolkata snatches a surprise win.
