We are here again with a Premier League power ranking. This time we have a more in-depth look at the top teams. Liverpool and Manchester City keep winning and running out from the rest of the teams. Will it last? What will change in the following weeks? We invite you to review the current situation at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool

The quickly lost goal did not bring Liverpool’s down against Newcastle. The runners up of England league won 3: 1, and their game looked much better after Roberto Firmino had come out of the bench. The Brazilian could have had four assists but finished with two. He has been in great shape since the beginning of the season.

Among others thanks to his excellent performance, Liverpool is the leader in the league before the next two difficult matches against Napoli in the Champions League and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Five points lead by The Reds after five rounds are the highest lead in Premier League history at this stage of the competition.

Manchester City

The defeat of England’s champions with Norwich City 2: 3 is the biggest sensation of this Premier League and probably the biggest in Europe last weekend. Fears that the defence would be much worse without Aymeric Laporte proved to be right. The Citizens lose goals from the counterattack. The next goals came after a great approach from the pressure of Canary players. Although Nicolas Otamendi helped a lot, City lost the whole game.

Of course, failure is not only the fault of errors, and Norwich’s excellent attitude, but the facts are that City lost in the league for the first time since January. The bad news for rivals, however, is that after that happened last time, Pep Guardiola’s players have won 14 consecutive Premier League matches.

Chelsea

Once again in the Strength Ranking, mixing begins behind the big two, and this time Chelsea jumps on the podium. Frank Lampard’s youthful revolution is taking its toll. The Blues are playing better and better on the offensive, which translates into impressive results, like a 5-2 win at Molineux over Wolverhampton.

Tammy Abraham, after initial criticism, begins to look like a real striker, which may be the future of the club. Mason Mount made another goal and was very active again. If we add up Fikayo Tomori’s hit, all 11 goals Chelsea this season were scored by the English footballers under 21 years of age.

Tottenham

Hardly any team needed a win like Tottenham so badly. Spurs defeated Crystal Palace by 4: 0, and it was clear until the halftime that they would not harm their rivals. Mauricio Pochettino announced before the break for the national team that the proper season for him would not start until mid-September. He knows who stays and who leaves, and all speculation can be postponed for several months.

The game becomes more intense because matches are every three days. In the game against the Eagles, Tottenham looked like his best, though old version. New players heal injuries or are slowly joining the team, but fortunately for fans of Heung-min Son and Harry Kane are having a successful play with Harry Winks.

Leicester

The foxes stood at Old Trafford before the best chance of winning after a 22-year break and wasted it. Manchester United weakened by the lack of Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial could have been beaten. Such a win would be a confirmation for Leicester of the ambitions of reaching TOP6 this season. Marcus Rashford’s only goal from the penalty spot settled the match.

Maguire did not give his former colleagues much hope to score. Despite this, Leicester played an even match with MU, their best player was James Maddison, and next week they will face another difficult team – this time Tottenham. If Brendan Rodgers and his players are to come in between the greats, they must start taking points from them.

 Manchester United

Despite the weaknesses, the Red Devils won a critical match with Leicester City and are returning to the top ranking. The excellence of Rashford play (apart from the goal he also hit the bar and performed several successful attacks) proved to be worth three points. The game was not perfect yet, which could originate from lack of some crucial players. However, most important is victory and regaining peace.

Arsenal

Some experts say that under Unai Emery, Arsenal is a defensive team that cannot defend. We had a perfect example of this in the match with Watford. Despite leading 2: 0, the Gunners did not look convincing and gave in to the rival. In the end, we had a 2: 2 draw that was determined by the mistakes of David Luiz and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Overall Watford fired 31 shots in this match with only seven Arsenal. That is the most in the five strongest leagues in Europe!
