IPL Auction 2018: Here’s Chennai Super Kings Player List

IPL 2018 has been much awaited by all the Chennai fans for their team, the Chennai Super Kings is back in action this year after a two-year ban. There has been a lot of buzz in the cricketing world with regard to the playing team of CSK in particular as everyone wants to see how this team will fare on-field after its long hiatus. As a matter of fact, CSK has been recognized as the team with most mentions across different social media platforms. This only indicates how excited the fans are for their return.

A strong squad up their sleeves

Chennai Super Kings emerged as a strong team after the auctions concluded giving all other teams good reasons to be ready for some tough competition on field. The 25 players in the team are as follows:

MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Kedhar Jadhav, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Harbhajan Singh, Chaitanya Bishnoi, Murali Vijay, Faf Du Plesis, Sam Billings, Mar Wood, Kanishk Seth, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, Kshitij Sharma, Dhruv Shorey, Asig K M, Mitchell Santner, N Jagadeesan, Monu Singh and Lungisani Ngidi.

Chennai Super Kings retained their skipper M S Dhoni, who would be leading the team for the ninth season in succession, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. The team utilized their Right to Match option to retain Dwayne Bravo and Faf Du Plessis.

Expectations from the fans are massive since the team is returning after a hiatus. Hence, CSK is under quite a pressure to show an exemplary performance this season. Head Coach Stephen Fleming along with Michael Hussey (Batting Coach) and Laxmipathy Balaji (Bowling Coach) are set to give their team a good round of training to help them with their performance this season.

Chennai Super Kings will be seen playing in the opening match of the IPL 2018 against the defending champions, Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on the 7 April, 2018.
