The game between Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be an interesting one on April 21, 2018, the 19th IPL 2018 Match. Virat Kohli will have to fulfill the expectations of fans while Gautam Gambhir will have to emulate last year’s success at KKR.
|Match||Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Daredevils, 19th Match|
|Date||Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 8:00 PM ( 02:30 PM GMT / 08:00 PM LOCAL )|
|Venue||M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru|
|Weather Forecast||Partly Cloudy|
Delhi Daredevils will be playing at their home ground, at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. The pitch has traditionally favored batters, but many other factors come into play, especially Delhi’s smog and pollution. Hopefully, smog will not be a problem since this is a night game.
The bounce that the pitch can generate will help Royal Challengers to bowl at their elements. Unfortunately, the Delhi bowling side is depleted with Kagiso Rabada out of the IPL with an injury. So, it will be up to Chris Morris and Trent Boult to extract as much as possible out of the pitch.
Delhi lacks genuine pace bowlers. Mohammed Shami is prone to injuries and Harshal Patel tends to be expensive. Chris Morris cannot carry the burden of bowling on his own. On the other hand, Challengers have Chris Woakes, Umesh Yadav, Kulwant Khejroliya and Navdeep Saini to bowl fast and hard. As a result, Royal Challengers could end up winning.
Royal Challengers has the formidable duo of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers
Virat Kohli has the ability to motivate and inspire players to give their best
While RCB no longer has Chris Gayle, it still has a superior batting line up with Brendon McCullum, AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, and Quinton de Kock
RCB has superior spin bowling as well, thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar
All-star team of RCB definitely looks better than Delhi Daredevils on paper and a lot will depend on how Kohli and de Villiers perform
Despite discarding Chris Gayle RCB boast a potent looking batting lineup that includes former Black Caps skipper Brendon McCullum and India wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel giving them plenty of options behind the stumps.
Their spin pantry looks equally well stocked led by the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Nidahas Trophy hero Washington Sundar expected to play a big part.
The Bangalore team sport two England all rounders in the shape of Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali who will be looking to put a long winter tour down under behind them.
No team can claim more New Zealanders with Colin de Grandhomme, Tim Southee and Corey Anderson teaming up with former Black Caps skipper McCullum.
He may not be express but young seamer Kulwant Khejroliya is a clever cricketer with a knack for taking wickets and is a player worth keeping an eye on.
Key player: Even the presence of De Villiers will do little to offset the weight of expectation on skipper Kohli who will be central to bringing a maiden IPL title to the Chinnaswamy stadium.
