The Sri Lankan team is on a six-week long tour of India, the itinerary for which was announced by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) on October 3. Earlier in August-September, India had visited the island nation when they defeated the host country in all formats of the game.
Now, the Sri Lankans want to take revenge, while the Indians have plans to repeat the same feat in front of the domestic crowd. India is riding high with an unstoppable winning spree in the last few months. All teams that have toured India have borne the brunt with most of the Indian players right now in their top form. The Indian skipper looks formidable and is hitting tons after tons.

The Indian team captain Virat Kohli will be given rest in the ODI series and Rohit Sharma will be the skipper for the 3-match series. This will be the first time when the talented opener will lead the national team. The Lankans will definitely try to take advantage of the absence of Kohli to salvage their reputation and clinch the ODI series. But, given the current form of the Indian team, it looks like an impossible task, though anything is possible in the game of cricket.
If the Sri Lankan bowlers could not cause trouble for Indian batsmen, then it would be difficult for them to register a win as the hosts are in the best of their form and spirits. The Indians are playing as a team supporting each other and that is visible in their game. For any country to defeat India right now is a tough job and it really has to dominate the game in all departments whether bowling, batting or fielding to take India head-on.
Both the teams are playing brilliantly displaying equal efforts and performance, but the results so far have gone in favour of the host country. People are crazy about cricket in both the countries and are watching the performance of their players with zeal and enthusiasm. They want to have a full-on entertainment through well-played matches and both the teams have delivered on it.
The next few days will indicate if the ODI series will be prosaic or not, but right now odds are in favour of the Indians.
Predicted Winner: India (IND)
