The final match of the 3-match Test arrangement between India and South Africa will be facilitated by the JSCA Stadium, Ranchi. The match will be played on 19th October at 09:30 IST. Though, India has sealed the series and they have also snatched the Freedom Trophy from the Proteas’ cupboard. Domineering stuff from the hosts. They have handed South Africa a fearful mauling. The loss in the 2nd test was South Africa’s first innings defeat since Feb 2010. During this process, Virat Kohli also becomes the most successful captain beating MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, South Africa need to grind out their way if they have any chance of preventing a series whitewash.

Match Details:

Series: South Africa tour of India, 2019

Pitch Report:

The JSCA International Stadium Complex has hosted only one international test match which was played between India vs Australia in 2017. The pitch was a true batting platter as the Aussies and the home team posted 451 and 603/9 in their first innings respectively. After the 3rd Day Pitch started to deteriorate and spinners came into play. This could be the ideal scenario in this match as well.

Weather Forecast:

Slight drizzle may occur on Day 3, but we expect the rest of the days to be nice and sunny.

Preview:

India: Team News and Playing XI:

The combination of India’s ruthless attack and South Africa’s ordinary batting meant India cruised to a crushing win by an innings and 137 runs. They’ve already cleaned up South Africa in just 67.2 overs in the second innings. In the batting department, Mayank Agarwal showed his hunger to perform at the highest level of cricket with consecutive centuries. Then masterclass Virat Kohli took upon the Proteas bowlers and scored career-best 254* along with Jadeja blitz 91. Umesh Yadav and the spinners were exceptional with the ball as they didn’t allow Proteas batsman to settle. However, from the Fantasy point of view take as a top-order batsman from the Indian side and prefer spinner over pacer as this pitch is expected to prefer the spinners.

Team News:

  •  Umesh Yadav was brought into the side in place of Hanuman Vihari and he proved his worth as he took as many as 6 wickets.
  • No other changes are expected in the playing XI.

Probable XI: Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami.

South Africa: Team News and Playing XI:

South Africa are in a fair degree of disarray coming into this third and final Test match in India as they have so many players out of form. After spending long spells in the field, some of their veterans are struggling against this relentless Indian side. Although, their top-order was a major let down in Pune. They should certainly look to learn from their lower-order batsmen who frustrated Indian bowlers. Captain Faf du Plessis would be hoping for an improved performance from senior batsmen Dean Elgar, Quinton de Kock, and Temba Bavuma in Ranchi

Team News:

  • Keshav Maharaj has been ruled out from the 3rd test while playing the match in pune. Due to this, Dane Peidt is may come in place of him.
  • Aiden Markram has been ruled out of the final test.  The opening batsman suffered an injury to his right wrist during the Pune Test last week. Zubyr Hamza can certainly come in place of him.
  • Probable XI: Dean Elgar, Theunis de Bruyn, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis (c), Zubayr Hamza, Quinton de Kock (wk), Senuran Muthusamy, Vernon Philander, Dane Piedt/George Linde, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje.

Captain/Vice-Captain Choices for Fantasy Teams:

 Virat Kohli:

There is no question that should he be the captain of your team. Certainly, he is the best batsman in the world and coming from an unbeaten double ton. The run machine will obviously always be the key player for your Fantasy team.

Faf du Plessis:

Faf is the only player in the south African team who has looked against the Indian spinners. He has a great composure to play big innings and with the team under the pump, he could be the vital cog for the proteas.

Captain Choices for Grand leagues:

  • Ravi Ashwin
  • Ravindra Jadeja
  • Kagiso Rabada
  • Cheteshwar Pujara
  • Rohit Sharma

Apne XI Prediction:

India have now won their last 11 Test series on home turf after they won the second Test and they will be keen to seal the whitewash. Due to this, expect India to take this series by 3-0.
