The Indian Tour of Sri Lanka commenced in late July this year, and it can be said without a doubt that the Indian team has proved its mettle in an unprecedented manner. Right from enjoying an upper hand in the Test Matches with an incredible win of 3-0, to an electrifying 3-0 lead in the 5-ODI schedule, India has left the Lankans gasping for breath on their own land. However, this doesn’t imply that Team Sri Lanka is not putting up a good fight. In fact, when we come to analyse the top 10 batsmen of the Test Series, Sri Lankan batsmen secured exactly as many spots as their Indian counterparts.

  1. Shikhar Dhawan

The left-handed opening batsman from India did everything right for himself as well as the team. The result? He emerged on the top of this list with a total of 358 runs, in 4 innings. He also scored the highest number of fours in the series, the total being a whopping 56. At 104.86, even his strike rate was more than impressive.

  1. Cheteshwar Pujara

Known for his sound technique, Pujara lived up to his fans’ expectations, scoring a total of 309 runs in 4 innings.

  1. Dimuth Karunaratne

One of the fastest emerging players on the Sri Lankan side, Karunaratne amazed everyone with his skills which lead him the third spot on this list. He managed to score a total of 285 runs in 6 innings.

  1. Ajinkya Rahane

True to his reputation, the vice-captain of the Indian side exhibited a flattering strike rate of 77.25, to score of a total of 229 runs.

  1. Niroshan Dickwella

The wicket-keep of Sri Lanka made his mark on the batting ground and sent the ball across the boundary 32 times. With a total of 227 runs, his play was rather appreciable.

  1. Kusal Mendis

Scoring a total of 200 runs in as many as six innings, young Mendis’ performance can be considered quite remarkable.

  1. Angelo Mathews

Yet another name from the Sri Lankan side, this all-rounder scored a total of 182 runs. He managed to impress one and all with a total of 5 exhillarating sixes.

  1. Hardik Pandya

With a strike rate higher than the top batsman of the series at 107. 88, and the highest number of sixes – 10 in total, Pandya emerged as a star of his own kind!

  1. Virat Kohli

Though not as impressive as he always is, the Indian captain Kohli scored a total of 161 runs in the 4 innings that he played.

  1. Dilruwan Perera

Though the last one on this list, one cannot deny that Perera wasn’t intense enough on the field. His 5 sixes and 18 fours, that led to a total of 150 runs stand testimony to the fact!
