England Vs India, 3rd T20I, Jul 08, Sun: Match Preview & Prediction

The second T20I on Saturday 06, 2018 was an antithesis of the first encounter with England getting the better of Indians in a moderate-scoring match.  As the series is tied at 1-1, the third and final contest scheduled on Sunday 08 at Bristol has raised expectations for apparent reasons. Not only will the winner seal the T20I series but also enter the next phase of the tour, involving a three match ODI series flowed by a five match test series, with its tail up.

India will look forward to putting up a good batting performance in the upcoming T20I, which was not at par in the previous contest and led to a disappointing loss. The opening pair – Shikhar and Rohit – has to give a solid start, allowing the likes of Kolhi, Rahul, Riana and MSD middle to play their natural game. Improvements in the bowling are also desired if India is serious about leaving an impression in the all important final T20I.

On the other hand, England has got into a fine nick with an inspired performance from the middle order bats – Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow. They have finally found ways to play the Indian spinners, especially Kuldeep Yadav in the middle overs, depleting India off its major advantage. However, the top order, barring Jos Buttler, continues to be a cause of concern for the Englishmen with their mainstay Joe Root and Eoin Morgan looking off-color.

Although India suffered a comprehensive defeat, it’s too good a side to be written off. It has the meat in all departments of the game to outplay any opposition on any given day. Nonetheless, England has got back to winning ways and will be looking to put up yet another consolidated effort to push their cause. It’s a fifty-fifty contest with England having the momentum.
