The Aussies have finally stepped into India with the aim to defeat the top ranking ICC ODI team and knock off their crown. After their triumph over Bangladesh in the Test Series, Australia is all set to take on India and break the host’s winning streak. The Indian Cricket Team has never been stronger, their bowling attack is excellent, the batsmen are in great shape and you can never praise the youngsters’ fielding enough. The Aussies are experienced and determined, but so is the Indian team, which is now performing at its best.

Squads for the Australia Tour of India

The teams have gone head-to-head in the past and for the spectators have always enjoyed the high level of competition. The 2017 Australian tour of India will feature 5 ODIs and 3 T20s and the squads of the respective teams are given below:

Indian Cricket Team:

  • The squad for Indian Cricket Team for the first three ODIs is as follows:

Virat Kohli (c), MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, Lokesh Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami.

  • The squad for Indian Cricket Team for the final two ODIs is as follows:

Virat Kohli (c), MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Ajinkya Rahane, Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey, Lokesh Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel.

The T20 squad for the Indian Cricket Team is yet to be decided.

Australian Cricket Team:

  • The ODI Squad for Australia is as follows:

Steven Smith (c), David Warner, Aaron Finch, Peter Handscomb, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Marcus Stoinis, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Matthew Wade, James Faulkner, Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Hilton Cartwright, Ashton Agar.

  • The T20 Squad for Australia is as follows:

Steven Smith (c), David Warner, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, Tim Paine, Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques, Travis Head, Aaron Finch, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Daniel Christian and Jason Behrendorff.

Both the teams are well-balanced and strong on paper. The Australians have big hitters like Steven Smith, David Warner, Aaron Finch and Travis Head and excellent bowlers like Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kane Richardson and Pat Cummins. As always, the Indians go a step further with the best batsmen of the world like Virat Kohli and finishers like Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder, and of course, the versatile, MS Dhoni, the former captain and wicketkeeper. The bowling arsenal of India has excellent seamers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah and spin bowling has always been their strength.

Although the teams look competitive, by winning the first three ODIs with ease, India has shown that they are a class apart. The Australian bowling attack did trouble them in the first ODI, but with excellent guidance from Captain Virat Kohli, the cool and calm nerves of MS Dhoni and excellent knock by the deadly all-rounder Hardik Pandya, the team registered a win.

Both the Captains have high hopes from their team in the upcoming ODIs and T20s. Steven Smith would want his men to step-up to the challenge and Virat Kohli would like his team to keep winning matches as a team.
