Asia Cup 2018: Pakistan vs. Bangladesh, Super Four, Match 6, Sep 26: Match Preview & Prediction

So, the last match of Super Four group of Asia Cup is here. This cup has seen the rise of Hong Kong and Afghanistan. And Afghanistan team even made it to the super four. Now here is the last match between another one a minnow Bangladesh and Pakistan. Both will be looking for the final spot, and a win here could be great news for either team.

Traditionally Pakistan has always edged over Bangladesh. They will be favorites here too. But this Pakistani side comes with some issues in both batting and bowling. The strong bowling unit as Pakistan was known before is missing here. Mohammad Amir has not produced the performance he was known for. Hasan Ali too has been an underachiever. Spinners have done decent work, but they could be more effective, given the condition of the pitch.

If we talk about batting, then there also Pakistan has not just let it happen. Openers are still found the right touch. The middle order looks promising but no performance. Fakhar and Babbar need to sort things to turn this match into Pakistan. Even the Captain needs one knock to grown into confidence.

On the other hand, Bangladesh too has looked quite a different side. One day they produce gem performance and another day they give up. On paper, they might not have a very strong team, but as a group, they do perform well. They can defeat any team on any day. In the past, India, Pakistan, England, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand have tasted defeat. They regularly beat West Indies today. Though they did get scared by the injury of Tamim now, he is back. Thus, their strong batting lineup includes Tamim, Mushifiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, and Mithun.

The would want Shakib to perform by both bat and bowl. He is the best all rounder of the world today, and he needs to take his game up especially with the bat. With the bowl, he is already firing aces here. If he can get support from Mustafizur and Mortaza, they can stop this Pakistani batting lineup.

It seems like Pakistan has an edge here due to the strong batting lineup. Though not in such form, they can rise to the occasion and deliver. Bowling seems almost equal for both teams. Thus, we predict Pakistan to win the match.
